Rail is better for the environment

Using rail as a way of transporting cargo is not only effective, it is also better for the environment compared to many other forms of transportation.

On average rail transportation is 3-10 times less CO2 intensive compared with road or air transport.

Rail pollutes at least four times less than roads for passenger services, and more than six times less for freight services.

Cheaper than air faster than ocean!

There are several benefits linked to rail freight as the main mode of transportation. First of all, rail in general match or better road freight when it comes to reliability. As railways have standardized transit schedules and do not share tracks like trucks share roads, they are not hindered by unforeseen traffic or weather conditions like trucks are.

Second, rail freight is most often more cost-effective than other modes of transportation. Trains burn less fuel per ton mile than trucks and this results in lower fuel costs – especially when shipping a high volume of cargo.

According to cost and transit time, rail freight is generally cheaper than air freight and faster than ocean freight.
