New Dutch office is growing
Seven months ago, the doors to our Tschudi Logistics office in Rotterdam opened. Since then, the business has been thriving and the Dutch Tschudi team has already grown from one to three people. Projects for the coming fall and winter are piling up – with Christmas around the corner, especially orders for transports of alcoholic beverages are booming.
The Tschudi Group has been present in The Netherlands for many years with both offshore, towage and logistic related services for the Netherlands. Hence, the Dutch team in Rotterdam banks on solid experience. This reflects on the great variety of tasks the team solves on a daily basis.
Tschudi Logistics Rotterdam handle everything from rail freight, project transports to beverage transports for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Rotterdam as a central hub for rail services
The Dutch office among other things represents the Tschudi Logistics office in Tallinn, Estonia which primarily handles rail freight to and from Europe and the CIS countries. The team offers daily services from Western-Europe to the CIS countries by container. Cargo can be loaded or transshipped via own warehouse in Rotterdam to Baltic ports from where goods are being railed to final destination. Kees Van der Steen says:
“Rates are very competitive at the moment. We do business with a broad range of forwarders, and we are not limited to specific types of cargo – our portfolio includes everything from food and beverages to oil in drums and various types of project cargo. We have a lot in hand and I am positive about our future work here from Rotterdam.”
Beverages to Norway via Rotterdam
Rotterdam has an ideal location for connecting Norway to the rest of Europe. The former Marinexpress has since 2013 been 100 % owned by Tschudi Logistics. This leg of the company is specialized in import of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to Norway, and in this regard, Rotterdam has a central location. Most of the beverages are sent via Rotterdam for the last part of the journey – end destination Norway.
“We dedicate a lot of our time to assisting our coworkers in Norway who are front runners when it comes to transport of alcoholic beverages to Norway. Many of the shipments end up in Rotterdam and from here we handle everything from clearance and tax returns to warehousing.”
Tschudi Logistics (formerly Marinexpress) imports 37 million wine bottles annually and is currently ranked number one wine transporter from Germany, France, Italy and Benelux to Norway.
